VSSON's COMMUNITY SERVICE
Veterinary Surgical Specialists of Nebraska (VSSON) has believed from its inception that supporting the Omaha community with its educational and surgical expertise was part of its mission. Surgical services have been donated to the Nebraska Humane Society and to the Henry Doorley Zoo.
These services have placed homeless pets with severe surgical issues in a better position to be helped by the staff at the Humane Society with their mission to find homes for as many of these homeless animals in the Omaha community as possible. These services will continue to be available at their request and our ability to solve the issues that need attention.
The veterinarians at the Omaha zoo have requested help with selected problematic surgical interventions with the patients under their care. These procedures would not necessarily have been possible with-out our expertise. This relationship has been very positive for both institutions and we intend to see it grow.
We anticipate that relationships will continue in the future and we will do our very best to support these agencies with their objectives in providing the Omaha community with excellent animal experiences.
Financial support to these agencies is encouraged for the hard costs over and above time donations that are provided. These agencies provide Omaha outstanding service and they need yours and our support in reaching their goals.

More recently VSSON has contacted Vatterott College and offered its educational expertise in their Veterinary Technician program. With over 35 years of active participation in the veterinary surgical education programs of two well respected land grant Veterinary Colleges (Michigan State University and Iowa State University) we felt we would have something to offer this institution. We are in the infancy of exploring our contribution and look forward to being an asset to their program.
