BUSINESS PLAN
Veterinary Surgical Specialists of Nebraska (VSSON) began serving the people of Omaha and the surrounding area in 2004. The initial plan was to bring veterinary specialty surgical service to the area through a relationship with Gentle Doctor Animal Hospitals in Omaha. This was to be a referral program for our Nebraska veterinary colleagues. The need for surgical specialty service was recognized as Omaha and Nebraska had been underserved with specialty veterinary services for many years.
In 2006 VSSON was formally established as a professional corporation to create more of a business identity to this specialty surgical practice. The practice is limited to orthopedic and soft tissue surgery for small animals.
In 2007 VSSON expanded and changed its business plan to a more mobile surgical service for the greater Omaha area. Service was expanded to selected practices in southeastern South Dakota, southwestern Minnesota and west-central Iowa. Surgical service was now being offered to our veterinary colleagues in their practices.
In order to provide complete service to Omaha and to the entire state of Nebraska, a referral surgical service is still available to those veterinary colleagues who would rather not face the anesthesia issues, surgical issues, and the immediate post operative care of complicated surgical cases.
Our mission is to bring excellence in specialty small animal surgical service to the veterinary community and their clients and pets in Omaha and the surrounding quad state area. We will strive to be timely and more than meet expectations for service. We intend to develop a strong professional relationship with the veterinary colleagues and practices we serve and maintain very strong long term relationships.
